Somatic Movement in-person membership

Welcome to our in-person Somatic Movement membership - I’m excited to be able to offer you this ongoing support in your Somatic Movement explorations, and I believe it will make a BIG difference to our practice!

Here’s what you get in your in-person Somatic Movement membership:

  • Twice-monthly in-person Monday evening class (8-9.15pm, Finchampstead, Berkshire)

  • Live access to twice-monthly Saturday morning online sessions (full class: 10-11.15am).

  • Live access to twice-monthly Wednesday evening online sessions (abridged class: 8.15-9pm).

  • Recordings of online sessions (available for at least 6 months).

  • Attendance at online beginner’s courses that I run during your period of membership.

  • Access to our 4-week recorded beginner’s course.

  • And more!

Pre-requisites: before attending live classes (either in person, or online), you must have some experience of Somatic Movement (e.g. beginner’s course, or a series of 1:1 sessions). I recommend starting with the recorded 4-week beginner’s course if you’re not already familiar with Somatic Movement, which is available via the membership, or as a standalone offering. Please do get in touch if you’re unsure.

Requirements for attending in-person sessions: please bring a yoga mat, a blanket (if you get cold easily) and a couple of small cushions if you have them (if you don’t have some or any of this equipment, it will be provided); if possible, wear something comfortable and flexible (e.g. jogging bottoms/leggings, t-shirt, jumper without hood); ability to get down to and back up from the floor to do exercises; ability to lie on your back (this could be propped with cushions if needs be); intention to create space to practise between sessions (optional, but highly recommended!).

Additional requirements for attending online sessions: preferably a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted; room to lie on the floor (carpet or exercise mat) and spread arms and legs out if possible; Zoom (free download); ideally the ability to position the camera so I can see most or all of your body when you are lying on the floor (or at very least your torso); ability to get down to/up from the floor to do exercises.

Session details

1.25-hour in-person group sessions, practising Somatic Movement, and including time for questions and discussion. Monday evenings, Finchampstead, Berkshire. You will receive further venue details, dates, reminders and other information via email on booking/after sessions or via the resources portal.

If I have to cancel a Monday session for some reason (e.g. illness), or if a session is not running because I am away, the invitation is to listen back to one of the online drop-in session recordings, so that you can still ‘attend’ your regular session! This is to enable me to continue to run my business in a sustainable way, and I hope it will also meet your needs for a regular session.

You can of course cancel your subscription at any time.

I am certified to deliver Somatic Movement education classes, in the tradition of Thomas Hanna. I am a Somatic Movement Center® Certified Exercise Instructor (level 3) (through Sarah Warren’s Somatic Movement Center training), and a certified Essential Somatics Movement Teacher (through Martha Peterson’s Essential Somatics training).
