Packages of in-person 1:1 sessions.
If you’re here on this page, you may well know that I am doing a 2.5 year training to become a Clinical Somatic Educator. (I am currently a certified Somatic Movement teacher.)
As part of this training, I need to provide around 200 hours of 1:1, hands-on sessions.
This is where you come in!
I am offering a small number of packages of sessions, open to anyone who can get to me. Sessions will be held at my home clinic in Finchampstead, Berkshire RG40, or in Oxford on occasion.
Packages will be priced much lower than my usual 1:1 consultations (I usually charge £70/session) to encourage people to sign up so that I can get my hours in! I hope it will also give a unique opportunity for curious people to try out what Clinical Somatics can do for you - and to find out how, even if you are already engaging in a Somatic Movement practice through my work, these clinical sessions will accelerate your learning and your progress.
Spaces fill up fast - if you click through the ‘Book now’ button and there are no spaces left, please get in touch if you would like to be put on the waiting list, and I will let you know when spaces open up again.
Questions, or ready to book? Get in touch here.
What will the sessions involve?
Please allow 75-90 minutes for your first session, and 60-75 minutes for follow-up sessions, which includes time for discussion and questions. Once you’re signed up to your session package, we will agree suitable session dates over the time of my training. Before attending your sessions, I will ask you for information about your health and wellbeing. In the sessions, we will explore specific gentle movements, with my hands-on guidance as relevant, to address habitually held patterns of muscle tension. When we release muscle tension, we can reduce pain and stress, increase energy, improve sleep, increase freedom of movement, and experience many more benefits besides.
If you have been to my classes, or past 1:1 sessions, please note that these clinical sessions will be rather different. In addition to guiding you in some movements, I will be actively assisting you in your pandiculations by giving you hands-on feedback.
Either way, I invite you to come with an open mind: Clinical Somatics is a long-term practice, and although you might have significant improvements or insight in your first session, you also might not see immediate improvements, and that’s ok. We are working with patterns of muscle tension that have been building up over a lifetime, and there is no quick fix. That said, some people have signficant shifts in a single session - everyone’s path is very individual.
Clinical Somatics is a gentle practice, working with your nervous system to release muscle tension. After a session, you might feel a little soreness in the muscles, but that will pass within a day or two. I recommend taking it easy immediately after a session (don’t go straight off to run a marathon or do strength training for example!), but a gentle walk, or engaging in your normal activities of daily living, is beneficial. You may well also notice that you move more freely, or that pain is reduced - keep an eye out for these improvements too!
Sessions are held in my garden office at my family home in Finchampstead. A bathroom is available for your use in the house. There is plenty of parking, either on our driveway, or on the road outside. I actually recommend parking a short way along the road or even round the corner, so you get a little walk after the session, rather than getting straight into your car!
Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move easily in, such as leggings/jogging bottoms, and t-shirt and jumper (preferably without a hood, but I can work around that if needs be). People tend to get a little cool when doing Clinical Somatics sessions, so feel free to bring some thick socks to wear if you want to as well.
Signing up
As long as I have availability, you can sign up for a 6-session package. To book, you must be able to attend sessions on Friday mornings - if you need sessions at other times, you will need to get in touch with me before booking to agree possible dates.
What you can expect from me with this package:
What I expect from you with this package:
In total, this package is worth well over £600, and I have very limited packages available at any given time. I am offering it on this initial roll-out for just £149 to help me get my sessions in, but it will not be available at this price again!
If you are interested in signing up, you can do so via the ‘Book now’ button here on this page. When you click through, if there are spaces available you will be able to book. If not, you won’t! Please note, sessions at these prices are limited, and prices will go up over the time of my course.
For the Berkshire sessions, I will be seeing clients in my home clinic space on Friday mornings. A small amount of other days/times will be available during the training too, which we would agree between us. Oxford sessions will likely be at the weekend, or on Wednesdays/Thursdays, in Wytham, OX2.
My usual terms & conditions (T&Cs) apply on booking - make sure you’re happy with these before paying for your sessions. By booking these sessions, you are agreeing to these T&Cs, and refunds can only be given as per these T&Cs. If refunding a portion of a block, you will be charged the full price for a single session for each session completed up to that point (£70/session), then refunded the remainder of your payment, minus a £5 administration fee. Please get in touch if you are unsure. Please do read the T&Cs carefully to ensure you are happy with the refund process and consent that you are agreeing to on booking.
Working with me - I am a one-woman business, and work few hours in the week. You won’t get immediate answers to queries, nor the slickest, sleekest experience working with me. You will, however, get personal connection and support, and someone who takes responsibility for their part (and gets things sorted) when things don’t go smoothly. People who connect well with me are respectful of my humanness, own their own feelings, and can expect a high quality, personal service from me. If this doesn’t sound reasonable to you, we are probably not meant to work together - and that’s completely ok!
On booking, you will receive a link to book your sessions. If we have previously agreed to sessions outside of my usual working hours, we will book these separately. Sessions must be booked weekly or fortnightly, and must be completed within 2 months of the date of your first session.
Again, please do not book if you can’t attend Friday mornings, unless we have corresponded further to make sure we can sort venues and dates!!
If you are ready to book, please go ahead and check if spaces are available via the ‘Book now’ button, or if you have further questions, please just get in touch here, or reply to any email I send you. I look forward to working with you!

“Well that was AMAZING! Thank you so much Emilie for that incredible 1:1 clinical session! My body feels so good afterwards, honestly felt like I was floating on my walk home! I literally can’t wait till you’re back in York so we can book in the next one! I wish I lived near you - I would be booking a session with you every week! I’m so grateful you are doing this training and sharing it with us 🥰🙏❤️ And it’s amazing how much clearer and more confident I feel now about taking my own practice forward, thank you xxxx” (Michelle W., psychologist)
“Thank you so much for this and for an amazing session this morning. I was confident I would enjoy it, but was still surprised at how much you achieved. Not only does my whole body feel much freer and lighter, I feel so much more relaxed and positive. You have to take personal credit for this - it’s not all Thomas Hanna, some of it is pure Emilie Leeks! Many thanks for being a wonderful person.” (Anonymous)
“This week has been quite the week (work has been very stressful) and I think I was holding that a lot in my muscles. It’s incredible how much of that I can feel has released after the session. My posture feels massively different and walking feels freer. I also feel taller after the session, so much so that we measured my height. I’m quarter of an inch taller than I was (which is already an inch taller than I was when I measured myself in my 20s/30s)!” (Stuart L., software developer) (Full disclosure - Stuart is my husband! But he does love Somatics!)
