Relax & Restore - Somatic Movement drop-in classes (all levels, online class)

Welcome to our Relax & Restore online Somatic Movement classes - exploring gentle yet powerful movements to release muscle tension, for whole-body relaxation, stress reduction, and freer movement.

Whether you are a complete beginner when it comes to Somatic Movement, or you’ve done some (or plenty!) but want to get some more practice in, these classes are for you.

Friday drop-in Relax & Restore classes run online, on a monthly basis. No knowledge of Somatic Movement is needed to attend. You can book individual sessions - or you can access these sessions (as well as session recordings) at no extra cost as part of our Somatic Movement membership.

Our Friday morning, all levels sessions, run from 10.45-11.45am, with an extra 15 minutes at the end of class for those who want to share their experiences or ask questions.

We will cover the principles and techniques of Somatic Movement, and sessions will be aimed at releasing muscle tension so that you leave at the end feeling relaxed, stress-free, and rejuvenated.

These sessions are aimed at complete beginners - and for those who already have some experience, as you know, attending class will bring even more layers to your practice, as well as giving you a chance to Just Feel Good!

Investment: £12/class. (Or included in your membership.)

Pre-requisites:

None.

Requirements:

Preferably a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted; room to lie on the floor (carpet or exercise mat) and spread arms and legs out if possible; Zoom (free download); ideally the ability to position the camera so I can see most or all of your body when you are lying on the floor (or at very least your torso) (optional, but recommended!); ability to get down to/up from the floor to do the practice (this can be using a chair etc for support if needed); ability to lie on your back (this could be propped with cushions if needs be; intention to create space to practise between sessions (optional, but highly recommended!).

Live classes are 1-hour, online, group sessions, practising Somatic Movement, and are suitable for anyone who wishes to experience this practice and meets the requirement described above. If you have specific learning needs, or questions about the suitability of these sessions, please do get in touch.

I am certified to deliver Somatic Movement education classes, in the tradition of Thomas Hanna. I am a Somatic Movement Center® Certified Exercise Instructor (level 3) (through Sarah Warren’s Somatic Movement Center training), and a certified Essential Somatics Movement Teacher (through Martha Peterson’s Essential Somatics training).
