Terms and conditions for events and consultations with Emilie Leeks
Thank you for your interest in our upcoming events/consultations. Please read through the following details before booking, and get in touch if you have any questions at all. We look forward to meeting you at one of our events soon!
In-person courses and talks are held at various venues in Wokingham, Berkshire (UK). Please see individual event listings for more details. If you would like to arrange for an event in your locality, we are happy to do so provided we can travel to you fairly easily, but arranging a suitable venue will be your responsibility. Please get in touch if you wish to do this.
We also run a number of online events - please visit the offerings pages to find out more.
One-to-one consultations are carried out online via Zoom, unless agreed otherwise.
Bookings are made through our website, and payments are handled by a third-party application (Stripe). At emilieleeks.com, we do not have access to your credit card details.
If you need a payment plan or for your payment amount to be subsidised, please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate. Please only ask for a reduced price if you really need it.
For one-to-one consultations, please contact us, and we will discuss your needs, costs, and possible dates - there is no commitment at this stage.
For membership payments, you will receive a Stripe invoice and be billed automatically each month via your credit card. If you wish to end your subscription, you can cancel your payments via the bookings site at any time.
To update the booking details we hold for you, log into the bookings site, and access your details via the ‘Your account’ tab. To change the credit card that regular membership payments are taken from, you will need to open the booking to your membership from your list of bookings, and you will be able to add a new card there. If you have more than one membership set up (e.g. for Somatics and for salsa), you will need to add the new card to each individual membership booking.
For payment plan payments, such as Circle membership paid over 3 months, you will receive a Stripe invoice and be billed automatically each month via your credit card. The full payment is due and these payments cannot be cancelled. If you need a payment break for any reason, please contact us to discuss, before your next payment is due.
All prices for talks and courses are per person, unless otherwise stated. This includes access to online teachings. There may be a discount available for couples wishing to access the same talk or course - please contact us if you are not sure.
I hope it is very clear that we try to keep the costs of our events and consultations as low as possible. If you consider the costs of other services you use, and professional courses you might take in your (paid!) working life, we believe our events are priced very reasonably. But if you are still finding it difficult to find the money at the moment, we do understand - and we are happy to arrange a payment plan, or to discuss a concession, so please do contact us if you feel this would be helpful to you.
We trust that only those who are genuinely in need will request a concession, so we would be grateful if your ability to pay the full cost is carefully considered. If in doubt, you may wish to think about other areas where you spend money, and whether you could make some cuts there - if it’s food or heating bills versus a Somatics course, we would love to help! But if it’s that you miss a hair appointment, or a chance to go out for a few drinks… ;-) Thank you for your consideration - paying what you can afford means we can continue to offer the services we do, whilst being able to open them up as best we can to those who are struggling to find funds right now. We leave it up to your discretion, and we know it will all be paid forwards, and we are thankful for that :-)
Refunds & cancellations
Refunds for events will be offered in the following circumstances only:
- No refunds are available for self-study courses (such as Salsa beginner’s course or Somatics beginner’s course) or for Circle membership. If paying for Circle membership in installments, all payments must be made.
- No refunds are available for membership payments. You can cancel your membership at any time.
- For in-person and online events, if we have a waiting list, and are able to fill your place (less a £5 administration fee) (except where stated - due to the very small numbers and the planning that needs to take place to run certain courses, refunds will not be given at any time, and this will be clearly stated in the bookings information).
- If you cancel more than a month in advance (less a £5 administration fee) (except where stated - due to the very small numbers and the planning that needs to take place to run certain courses, refunds will not be given at any time, and this will be clearly stated in the bookings information).
- If we have to cancel the event for any reason.
- If you cancel your 1:1 consultation more than a week in advance (less a £5 administration fee).
We believe in the quality and practical benefit of the events we offer, and the value they will bring to you and your family. Please think carefully before booking on to one of our events - we do not offer a magic wand for parenting, family or wellness issues, and to make shifts you will be expected to do the work, go deep, and own what’s yours. No refunds are available for any courses once the course has begun, or once you receive the coursework (guidebooks, workbooks, downloads etc) - whichever is sooner. If you cancel partway through a 1:1 block of sessions which you have paid for up front, you will be charged the usual single-session price for any sessions already taken, and then refunded the remainder of your payment (minus a £5 administration fee).
Some of our courses call for live attendance (either online or in person), which will be specified in the event description, and include (but are not limited to): Starter Class, Reactive Children course. Sessions may be recorded at our discretion, and will be sent if sessions are missed. You will not receive the recordings if you: miss all the live sessions; do not let me know that you won’t be able to attend; do not let me know soon after a session why you weren’t able to attend. Sessions are live for a number of reasons, including creating a safe space for sharing, and me being able to monitor people’s practice where relevant, and it is not appropriate to only listen back to recordings in these cases. No refunds will be given for lack of attendance at live sessions.
Please note, some of our courses invite you to download materials, where streaming is impractical due to the large file sizes. No refunds will be given if you aren’t able to (because of your own device limitations), or choose not to, download the materials and are unable to access the materials effectively due to streaming issues.
Where we have to cancel a single session of an ongoing course, we will make that session up at a later date - unfortunately no refunds will be given if you are unable to attend the rescheduled session. If we have to cancel a one-off event, we will move the date, and your money will be refunded if you are no longer able to attend.
For memberships, no refunds, full or partial, will be given if we have to cancel a session (e.g. due to illness), or if a session doesn’t run live on a particular week (e.g. if we take a holiday break). We will however provide an alternative for that week’s session (except in occasional circumstances which will be communicated to you in those individual situations), as described in the booking details for individual memberships. No refunds will be given if you have to miss a session for your own reason. This policy enables us to run this business in a sustainable way, as well as keeping our prices as low as we do. Please get in touch before signing up to a membership if you are unsure or have questions about this.
If you need to rearrange a consultation due to circumstances beyond your control, such as illness, please do just get in touch to arrange this - we completely understand that things don’t always go according to plan!
It is your responsibility to check carefully the details of any offering you book on. All details can be found on the relevant offering page on the website, or you are welcome to get in touch with questions.
Your personal details
We need to ask for your name, email address, and sometimes mobile number (mobile number for in-person events only) so that we can send out information before/after events and consultations, and so that we can contact you last minute if we need to do that (e.g. if we need to cancel an event last minute - unlikely but not impossible!). For some events and consultations you may need to complete a case history form and waiver, which we will send you in advance of your session/s and which must be completed and returned in good time.
You can opt to sign up to our newsletter via the website. Your details will not be passed on to any other person or company, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, via the link at the end of each email.
By signing up for one of our events, you understand and are agreeing to the following statements:
I verify that all information shared with Emilie Leeks is correct and current to the best of my knowledge. I understand that any information provided is for safety purposes and will be kept strictly confidential.
I understand that the practitioner will make no diagnosis, and that if any practice causes pain or discomfort, I should stop the practice immediately.
I understand that I am advised to contact my family doctor should I experience any ongoing pain at any time.
I understand that I am able to withdraw from the agreed sessions at any time, for any reason. (Refunds will be given as per the Terms & Conditions agreed to on booking.)

All client information is confidential and will not be shared with anyone, except in exceptional circumstances such as regarding the expression of suicidal intent.
All clients are advised to get the approval of a medical professional before practising the movements and practices taught in the classes and courses.
I hereby give my consent to receive services from Emilie Leeks and I acknowledge and agree that I am doing so at my own risk. I understand that services offered by Emilie Leeks do not replace medical diagnostics and care. My health and safety with respect to such services are my sole responsibility. I acknowledge that Emilie Leeks is not responsible for any injury or death occurring during sessions offered, whether live or pre-precorded. My decision to receive services from Emilie Leeks is voluntary, and I know of, understand and assume any and all the risks associated therewith.
In exchange for receiving services from Emilie Leeks, I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators and personal representatives, hereby waive, release, discharge and hold harmless Emilie Leeks, its members, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for any and all injuries, including death, damages or claims relating to or resulting from my receipt of the services, now or in the future, foreseen or unforeseen. Further, I will indemnify and hold Emilie Leeks, its members, officers, agents and employees, harmless from and against any and all claims, rights, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or in connection with any injuries to other persons or damage to property caused by or attributed to me.
I acknowledge that I have read and understand the release and indemnification provisions set forth in the preceding paragraph, and agree to such terms.
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We will get back to you as soon as we possibly can, but as a busy family, it is not always immediate - thank you for your understanding!
We try to start all group talks and courses promptly, as there is so much to cover, so please arrive on time if you possibly can - and let us know if you are running late for any reason. Please don’t arrive more than a few minutes before the start time for live events held in our home, as we may not be ready for you. Please try to arrive 5 minutes early for online events to make sure you have time to get set up and connected. As best we can, we will accommodate latecomers at our events, and at the same time, it’s very helpful and less disruptive if you can be on time. But if you are running late, please don’t worry - we know how it can be, and we just want you to be there!
